Our college library is the key source of information for the academic community as a whole. It was founded for the pursuit of academic excellence along with the college in 1982. The library caters to the need as a resource of knowledge repository for students, research scholars, faculty, and staff. Library is located at the central building, ground floor which covers a total area 5400 sq.ft. stipulated for total seating capacity of students. Library provides a reading room which makes available Newspapers, Journals, and magazines easily accessible for all. Free access to the Internet facility is also provided for all the users. Special reference sections are maintained for Career Guidance, Kerala History, Gandhian Studies, and various competitive exams. The working hours of the library is from 8.30 AM to 5 PM on all working days.

In order to cater to the information needs of the student community the library provides access to 20,581 books, 19 journals and 37 magazines. 7 periodicals, periodical bound volumes CD’ ROM, etc. is made available in the library. Library is equipped with user friendly interface softwares like ILMS and KOHA. Library facilitates Web OPAC remote access to users and provides a platform to both students and teachers for N LIST subscription of Inflibnet. This inflibnet facility provides access to more than 6000 journals and 164800 e-books which is really beneficial for students and research scholars.

The complete automation LIBSOFT of the library was completed in the year 2018, which is using KOHA 23.05.10 version. This enables automated sharing and discharging of books.

Other Automated Facilities:

D-Space, the Digital Repository: Digital repositories include e-books, Projects, current content services, and previous year question papers.

RFID based entry-exit system, integration of bar code reading facility server with high configuration.

Online access to N List resources such as books, journals and other resources through the college library’s webpage.

Display of new arrivals in display boards.

The library is fully wi-fi enabled to access online content.

Dedicated e-learning space inside the library.

Differently abled friendly reading software.

 Reprographic facility.

A library committee consisting of 9 members monitors all the activities of the library.

During the last 5 years Rs 983708/- spent on purchasing books, journals and periodicals.

The library takes initiatives for conducting orientation programmes,  Reader’s Week celebrations etc. and for arranging students internships.

A special reference section serves the varied interests of students and staff. Resources on teacher publications, career advice, Shakespeare's collection, Gandhian studies, manuscripts, and materials for various competitive tests are included in this section.

The library provides free internet service.

N-LIST

Pavanatma college is registered for the N-LIST programme, which is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under the National Mission on Education through ICT. The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the college INFLIBNET Centre. The authorized users from college can access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher’s website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre.
